Prevention program about musculoskeletal disorders in a hospital laundry
Publication
Musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) are multifactorial pathologies with occupational components which constitute a priority axis of prevention because of their high level of prevalence in many companies. The MSD prevention program must be participative, multidisciplinary, adapted to the company and evolutive. The aim of this work is to show the efficiency of the program based on these principles following the example of a hospital laundry in which the occupational physician observed a high rate of complaints from the employees concerning MSD.
The first part is a review of the literature about working conditions in a laundry. The second part describes the development of the prevention program in three stages : risk identification, evaluation of risk factors and risk control. In the last part, all of the participants have analysed the solutions suggested and their implementations as well as the subjective evaluation of the program.
