A recent French law proposes a framework allowing voluntary companies to integrate environmental or social objectives into their statutes based on a raison d' tre. For the legislator and the initiators of this law, it becomes then possible to 'set a strategic path which employees at all levels of the hierarchy can use to discuss more operational decisions or collective operating methods. The psychosocial dimension is not far away because it opens up new opportunities to discuss organizational issues and can provide additional meaning. The paper will present a case study of a company where we conducted group and individual interviews to see how this strategic orientation was experienced on a day-to-day basis and to what extent objectives and raison d' tre were mobilized to address work related issues.
