Diisocyanates are used in the production of a large number of products. The processes used can be more or less emissive. Isocyanate compounds are one of the main causes of occupational asthma and some of them are classified CMR cat. 2. Current occupational exposure limit values (OELs), over 15 minutes and 8 hours, are likely to be revised downwards. INRS has developed a method which allows individual sampling both over 8 hours and an exposing task, according to the general guidance on workplace monitoring, even if OELs are lowered.
