Chemical exposure when opening shipping containers: a review of measurement campaigns.
Publication
Numerous international scientific studies have shown that access to maritime containers can be a source of chemical exposure for operators inspecting, unpacking and maintaining them. The INRS has carried out several measurement campaigns over a period of five years to assess the quality of the atmosphere in maritime containers before they are opened in port areas or logistics platforms. These measurements revealed the presence of chemical pollutants at concentration levels that were often comparable to or higher than the occupational exposure limit values.
