Development of a safe methodology for detailed design of work equipment.
Study
Despite the advances made in terms of knowledge of the design process and activity, and in spite of an increasingly comprehensive normative system, putting the approach termed « integrated prevention » laid down in the « Machinery » Directive into practice is still far from perfect. Health and safety aspects are still treated in a dissociated manner in relation to functional objectives, and generally at the end of the project.
A hypothesis put forward by the scientific community to tackle this issue has been to bring the designers to design not a technical system but a work situation leaving operators the necessary room for manœuvre for executing their tasks. As regards this hypothesis, the aim of this study is to develop a structured approach employing appropriate tools that can be applied at the detailed design phase. It is indeed during this phase that the technical solutions, and therefore the risk level of the future work equipment, become a reality.
This study will be conducted in partnership (mixed laboratory) with ENSAM ParisTech Metz.
The results will be validated by experts and by way of case studies.
Results exploitation planned:
- The results will lead to articles in scientific journals and in professional reviews intended for technical designer and CAD software publishers.
- The partnership with ENSAM ParisTech Metz also constitutes an environment allowing for knowledge transfer to the initial vocational training of future designers.
