Synthesis of the INRS campaign to determine the assigned protection factors of respiratory protective devices used for asbestos removal

The purpose of this campaign was to determine, by META analysis, the assigned protection factors of respiratory protective devices worn by asbestos removal workers when removing materials containing asbestos from sites of levels 2 and 3, in compliance with the regulations in force at the time of the campaign. These studies also focused on knowledge of the processes and organisations involved in the asbestos removal sector. This synthesis presents the main results and recommendations stemming from the campaign. It is based on the use of measures performed on 6 asbestos removal sites of level 3 and 3 sites of level 2.
