To buy a machine: how to describe the expected uses?

To buy new work equipment, an industrialist can draw up specifications. This paper is intended to show an original specification methodology going beyond the functional analysis alone by integrating the concept of the work situation as defined by INRS during previous research work. So, suppliers could take into account the future activities and the various contexts of use to design safe work equipment. A use case in a SME is described in this paper.
