Evaluating the cost of a workplace accident from the company s point of view

Occupational accidents represent a major challenge for French companies, a human or financial level. For the company, an occupational accident results not only in social security contributions intended to cover care and compensation for the injured person, but also in a set of disruptions to its activity which leads immediately, or in a delayed manner, to financial losses. This article aims to examine in detail the different aspects of the cost of a work accident for a company and, after presenting elements of method to evaluate it, to provide elements of magnitude.
