Qualitative methodology for the assessment of biological risk in the sector of composting

Risk assessment is a prerequisite for any prevention approach and should make it possible to build a prevention action plan. It consists of listing the dangers that could cause harm to employees, analyzing and evaluating the conditions of exposure and thus prioritizing the risks by action priorities with the aim of defining an action plan in terms of health and safety at the work. Like the other risks, such as the chemical risk or the risk associated with the use of nanomaterials, the employer must carry out a biological risk assessment and in the absence of a standardized approach, he is destituted, of a on the one hand with its regulatory obligation and on the other hand with the prevention of biological risk. To date, there is no universal methodology applicable to all sectors. This is why, in the genesis of such an approach, this sheet proposes a methodology for assessing biological risk which was developed for a particular sector, composting.
