Tool for choosing a restraint system for forklift truck driver : technical approach and discomfort analysis when using.

This study concerns developing an experimental protocol making it possible to estimate the effectiveness of restraint systems designed for fork-lift drivers when their fork-lift trucks tip over on one side.
The first aim was to estimate the capacity of the systems to restrain the fork-lift driver in the cab or on the seat. The second aim was to assess the stresses and the discomfort to which the driver is subjected when using the safety devices.
The results give important information to prevention specialists and to users for making the choices that are best suited to the job and to the working conditions of the fork-lift driver.
