Comparison of French and German methods for bitumen fumes sampling and analysis

INRS and IFA have teamed up to compare their methods for sampling and analysis bitumen fumes. A bitumen fumes generation facility was developed to simultaneously expose six German and six French samplers to the same polluted atmosphere. The results of this comparative study demonstrate good agreement between the German method using an FT-IR analysis and the French method using a GC-FID analysis.
