Accompaniment project for the application of Decree 2010-750 of the 2nd of July 2010 relating to “the protection of workers to risks arising from artificial optical radiation”
Study
Decree 2010-750 of 2 July 2010 regarding to the protection of workers to risks arising from artificial optical radiation was published in the French Official Journal on 4 July 2010. This decree will cause many questions and requests for assistance. Indeed, currently, compa do not have the relevant information to appreciate on their right level the hazards associated with artificial incoherent optical radiation (AIOR). Except INRS, there are no laboratories, to our knowledge, in a position to determine and evaluate, without measurement, in-situ AIOR levels. CatRayon being the only software tool able to determine, without measurement, the exposure to AIOR, INRS proposes the integration of a CatRayon-based assistance system into its web site, making it possible to sensitize the enterprises to the dangers of AIOR ; then to identify , without measurement, the sources which present hazards and, if necessary, to assess a priori the risks of working situations and adapted the appropriate prevention means. In the case where the recourse to metrology is unavoidable, a methodology to measure AIOR at workstations will be made available to the actors of prevention.
The aim of this transversal study is to lead the studies and research necessary for the construction of this system. Each of the scientific and technical areas envisaged will be given over to a specific action.
In terms of results exploitation, this study will result in the drafting of communications such as documents sensitizing to the hazards of optical radiation, a non binding guide to good practice for the risk-assessment, a metrological guide, and the organization of training modules for the actors of prevention.
