Designing prevention of emerging risk: an approach based on the representations and activities

The emergence of nanomaterials is today a major technological innovation in all business sectors. These new materials have important scientific and economic issues and ask questions about their effects on health and the environment. This article describes the ergonomic intervention carried out in an industrial company that seeks the collective construction of a risk prevention approach to nanomaterials. This is to understand the real prevention practices implemented in relation to this emerging risk, exploring the risk representations of the workers in connection with their work activities. It is also to explore how the mobilization of corporate stakeholders around the prevention device and their confrontation to action and work activity transform their representations and create debate on the prescription to build..
