Publication
The research-action meeting in the health at work congress at Lille (France), in 2014, June 2nd and 3rd shared and compared the points of views of researchers from three countries on the occupational exclusion topic. This concept refers to working hindrance, society exclusion and health care access problems. Actions in this topic are both medical and social, including patients-workers, work, heath care, welfare and rights systems. Knowledge background requires a threefold integrative medical, legal and social approach. This increasing and complex problem in many countries was pictured by the Sherbrooke model developed in non specific low back pain. This article shows numerous (individual, societal and professional) determinants of these situations and highlights some inter-professional collaboration demands and barriers. Challenges in this topic were described by three experiments: a Sherbrooke model implementation in Belgium, a case management experiment in France, and a Canadian experiment in mental health topic.
