Sea freight containers: beware of hazardous gases and vapours
Publication
When sea freight containers are opened, workers (dockers, customs officers, and also goods-handling, freight, and transport staff) can be exposed to hazardous gases and vapours, whose presence is rarely indicated by signage. To shed light on the origin of these gases and on the scale of the problem, INRS has taken an inventory of practices both in France and elsewhere.
