Stroke and shiftwork: epidemiological facts

It is presented in this paper epidemiological data about strokes and shift work (SW). One study of good quality has reported a significant positive association, but weak, between stroke and SW. Globally, the findings remain conflicting and often not significant. Thus, epidemiological evidences are insufficient to evoke a link of causality. Other specific studies are needed. However, the attention was drawn on the advantage to lead the medical monitoring as recommended by the French Society of Occupational Medicine.
