Chronical stress: overview and focus on new biological and biomechanical indicators

Publication

Following some basic reminders about the neuro-psycho-immunological mecanisms underlying the stress response as well as the acute and chronical stress concepts, two new stress indicators are reviewed : endogenously produced cortisol (EpC) and temporomandibular disorders (TMD). Studies on EpC and TMD are reviewed within the framework of chronical stress-related situations. Their relevance in terms of applied and research purposes is discussed.
