Real-time metrology of hazardous substances at workplaces : advantages and limitations.

Gases, vapours and aerosols can now be measured in real-time at a work station. Numerous techniques are used, and some of them are increasingly simple to use. After presenting the issues related to using these techniques for occupational safety and health, this article explains the advantages and limitations of them by type of chemical substance (gases/vapours and aerosols).
