CatRayon 3: Software for hazard assessment and protective measures for occupational exposure to optical radiation
Publication
People are often occupationally exposed to optical radiation emitted by several sources with different properties. A first software, CatRayon, enabled assessing hazards generated by one source at a workstation in a user-defined configuration. A new version, CatRayon3, covers several sources, several fixed and moving workstations as well as, more generally, persons in a work area. A database of an odd 100 protective filters has been added to the 400-source database. CatRayon enables therefore to choose individual or collective protective equipment by selecting the filters in the database or on a list of effective filters automatically predetermined by the software.
This document gives :
· the calculation model developed for assessing exposure at workstations and in work areas and for determining protective filter efficiency,
· the model verification in laboratory in some simple configurations,
· the software functionalities.
