Controlled Bioaerosols Aerosolization of Bacteria, Endotoxins, Actinomycetes or Fungi by a Bubbling Generator

Presentation

Physical and biological performances of a “Liquid Sparging Aerosolizer”-type bubbling generator were studied. The generator’s flexibility makes it possible to use generated bioaerosols in laboratory trials with various objectives and constraints: development of a method to quantify the exposure of workers to airborne Actinobacteria and similar taxon; airborne endotoxins measurements and deposition on the inner walls of the closed-face cassette (CFC); side by side comparison of the BC-112 cyclone (NIOSH) and the CFC; comparison of 4 bioaerosol samplers, evaluation of bioaerosols biodiversity, investigations about the measurement of airborne (1,3)-D-glucans; measurement of airborne microorganisms in real-time (using WIBs IV).
